Shuttle Launch Pad from tour bus

Even the tour bus driver was surprised at the places we were going. This is inside the launch complex. The NASA engineers worked hard to plan a really nice tour. We stopped just short of driving right up to the pad (it was roped off). They have some rules in NASA, even for people with badges. Never go across a yellow rope, and don't go in certain buildings. It's pretty obvious which buildings they are. We got lost on the bus tour for a little bit and ended up at a tiny building that had it's own barbed wire fence and a very stern security guard that made it clear nonverbally that we weren't supposed to be there. We drove away fairly quickly, without even talking to him. Of course it made me curious, wondering what's in there.
