Monkeys in space

This is the capsule used by the US to launch monkeys in space. As far as I know all the monkeys returned ok. The Russians were pretty heartless, they sent a dog up in one of their satellites on a one way trip. Anyway, the capsule has red and white levers, which scientists used to see if the monkey was ok. The monkey was trained to pull certain levers at certain times (I think if a red or white light flashes). If the monkey gets it wrong, a wire delivered a small electrical shock to the monkey's leg. One time the system short circuited and the monkey kept getting shocked no matter what it did. When the scientists recovered the monkey after the rocket landed, the monkey was pretty grumpy.
